Graduation

On Tuesday morning, June 30 at 10:00 am the first National Conference of Bankruptcy Clerks graduates of the Judicial Administration Program will be recognized in a formal graduation ceremony. We look forward to this exciting moment in the history of the NCBC and for a chance to recognize the accomplishments of our members.

New Students
There has never a better time to start working on your professional development than in St. Petersburg. We offer a new five-year cycle of classes with the 2009 conference. You do not need to be enrolled with MSU to get started in St. Petersburg so show up for the classes and take control of your future.

New students should plan to attend the pre-conference class “Purposes and Responsibilities of Courts” and the Leadership classes outlined in the Michigan State University at NCBC brochure and the Judicial Administration Certificate and Degree Opportunities flyer.

An orientation will be held at 8:00 am Monday, June 29 and the MSU JA staff will be participating in Innovation Bay on Wednesday, July 1 to answer any remaining questions.

If you miss the pre-conference class, on-line alternatives to missed classes are offered through Michigan State. See the MSU@NCBC brochure.

A description of the Judicial Administration Program and the various options for non-credit and credit bearing classes can be found in the Judicial Administration Program Brochure and at www.judicialadministration.msu.edu.

Continuing Students
As students can start at any time (but must complete the program in a five year period), we are offering three classes to make sure no student is left behind. Depending on when you joined the program, you are offered two alternatives pre-conference:

1. If you are graduating in 2010 (and have not fulfilled the human resources management requirement), you likely need to take Human Resources Management with Professor Terry Curry. This class will repeat in 2011.

2. Most continuing students will want to attend the pre-conference class “Purposes and Responsibilities of Courts” and the Leadership classes outlined in the Michigan State University at NCBC brochure and the Judicial Administration Certificate and Degree Opportunities flyer.

The MSU@NCBC brochure includes a complete list of the first and second five-year plans so students can find themselves and track their progress toward completion.
